Tree Pruning
- We can formatively prune your young trees to establish a desirable shape and give them the best chance in life.
For the oldies you have a range of options...
- Lift those lower branches or thin out the crown to allow more light through.
- Weight reduce extended limbs to minimise risk of failure. - Perform whole crown reductions to keep the tree at a suitable size for your garden. - Remove dead and dying branches so that they don't pose any risk. - Pollard trees that have out grown their space so they can be maintained at a practical size.
Whatever your requirements, be it for reasons of form, light, safety or aesthetics we want to provide a tree pruning solution for you.
Tree Removal
As a last resort when they have out stayed their welcome... Whether it is a straight forward fell or a controlled dismantle in a delicate space, we have the skills and equipment to get the job done safely and efficiently.
We also donate to a tree planting charity for every tree we remove.
Hedge Trimming
We are expert hedge trimmers and can access those more difficult ones that you or your gardener don't want to tackle!
Do you prefer a natural flowing hedge or a formal English garden look? We can help keep your garden looking its best.
Log Milling
Too good for firewood? We can slab your valuable timber and help stack it for drying on your property.
Tree Bracing and support systems
Where limbs and even whole leaders pose a saftey concern but the trees form needs to be preserved, bracing in combination with a weight reduction is a good option. This can involve fixing cables or ropes between different parts of the tree so that wind loading is shared more evenly throughout the canopy. It can be a good option for those european trees which grow too fast for their own good in this climate!
Tree Planting
We can advise you on species and location. Source trees and protection systems and if you would like we can plant, or help you plant them too. Its great to complete the cycle, keep Wanaka green and future Arborists in work!
Wood Chipping
Recycle your garden waste, don't burn it!
Whether its work that we have done or trees you have cut your self we can turn them into wood chip mulch.
Mulch is a invaluable resource for your garden, you are welcome to keep all you want of it, but if preferable we will take it away to be reused in the community.
Tree installations/removals
We can help install lights (as in pic), bird boxes, zip lines, rope swings or rescuing cats and drones. Any excuse to climb a tree!

Trees Company is owned and operated by Andrew Hennigan.
I have worked in Arboriculture for over 15 years with experience and Qualifications in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.
I have a passion for working with trees and would like to help wherever I can.
